Frederick "Bud" Kruger
1933 - 2008 |
EMRA Patriarch; Bud Kruger has passed.
Bud died on August 28th from complications due to diabetes and heart disease. He was a graduate of Cornell University and a Army veteran.
He loved motorsports. Early on he raced a variety of English sports cars; was a past Chairman of EMRA and past president of the Scuderia-X Car Club. Bud was also a fifty(50) year member of the Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society.
A chance sitting with him over dinner or at station would be entertained with countless stories of the races, racers and race cars he touched throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Cally Kruger, daughter Jennifer Travers and sister Lynn Steffan. Per his request, he was cremated, and a private memorial service is being planned by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate that donations in his memory be made to the St. Labre Indian School, PO Box 216, Ashland Montana (MT), 59003. (For more information visit them on the web at www.stlabre.org.)
EMRA heads to Pocono with heavy hearts. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cally and the entire Kruger Family.
A thread has been created on EMRA's forum for all to share thoughts, anecdotes and their sympathys in remembrance of Bud. (Bud's Thread)

EMRA and NJMP make History
On Saturday July 12th, EMRA brought back competitive road racing to the State of New Jersey when the green flag was waved to the field of Open Wheel and S2000 cars. The 15 lap event featured exciting action and great speed. It was truly the first test of the Lighting of Circuit under such conditions. The local media, (who have been great supportors of NJMP) were out in numbers covering the inaugural event. Reporters, photographers and videographers flocked the paddock interviewing many of our own for their reactions of the track, facility and experience.
Posted press stories, pictures and videos can be found at:
The Daily Journal: First official races get underway at new motorsports park in Millville.
Press of Atlantic City: Fast times in Millville at Lightning Raceway
